A book that feels like a deep breath, a porch-swing conversation, and a little reminder to keep believing.

Poems & Prayers by Matthew McConaughey is part poetry, part reflection, part faith-filled pep talk. It’s the kind of book you can read cover to cover or open to a random page when you need a little perspective.

It’s thoughtful, soulful, and just the right amount of unexpected… making it such a good gift for the reader, deep thinker, journal lover, or Matthew McConaughey fan in your life. I am all of those things.

Yesterday, some of my very favorite customers were the young boys who rode their bikes to the Bay store in little groups, wandered through the shop, and tried so hard to pick out the right gifts for their moms.

They asked questions. They touched everything. And honestly, I encouraged it.

I had them smell the lotions and candles. I asked them which one felt most like her. I watched them think about it… really think about it. Because they weren’t just buying “a gift.” They were trying to choose something that would make their moms feel known and loved.

Then they reached into their pockets and pulled out crumpled, soggy dollar bills, counted what they had, and smiled so proudly as I wrapped each little gift.

I told them how proud I was that they came in on their own. That taking the time to show up for the women in their lives is a really big deal. That learning how to give thoughtfully, lovingly, and with intention is such an important and valuable part of the men they will grow into.

And before they left, I told them one more thing:

Make her a card.

Write down your favorite things about her. Write your favorite memories. Write it in your own handwriting. Because the lotions and trinkets are thoughtful and sweet, but your words will be the part she keeps forever.

So moms, if you open a Print Shop bag this morning, I hope you feel all of that.

I hope you feel the bike ride.
The questions.
The careful choosing.
The little hands digging for damp dollar bills.
The proud smiles.
The love tucked into every wrapped-up gift.

Helping your kids shop for you yesterday was one of the sweetest privileges of this little shop.
