We contacted JCM Home Services for a siding repair quote, which was provided based solely on photos we sent. Since we already had most of the materials, we included a picture of those as well. The estimate came to around $1,100. We proceeded by signing a contract that included a five-year labor warranty.
Three workers were sent to complete the job, one of whom admitted he was new and lacked experience with siding. The work appeared satisfactory at first, but a few months later, the same section of siding fell off.
I reached out to JCM and asked for a repair, explaining it was the exact area they had worked on. I was told I’d need to pay a $200 travel fee. When I brought up the warranty, I was told the fee wasn’t covered—though this was never mentioned in the contract. I went ahead and paid the $200, only to later find out the laborer sent was not a JCM employee, but a subcontractor.
A few months later, the exact same area of siding came off again. I called repeatedly for weeks with no response. Eventually, I got in touch with someone who informed me that JCM no longer does siding work and there was nothing they could do.
Now we’re out $1,300, and the labor warranty we were promised seems to carry no value.ONE
