🧹 A little advice for other cleaners trying to build their business…
DO NOT let one difficult client make you question your entire business or everything you've worked for.
You can have 50 customers who love your work, appreciate your team, recommend you, and welcome you into their homes… and somehow that ONE unhappy customer will have you sitting there questioning yourself. Don’t give them that much power.
Take constructive criticism when it's deserved. Fix what needs fixing. Own your mistakes when you make them. That's part of running a business.
But also learn the difference between constructive criticism and someone who is determined to find something wrong.
Unfortunately, there are people who will try to tear down another business, damage someone's reputation, or create problems simply because they can. Sometimes it feels like people get more pleasure out of watching someone fail than watching them succeed.
Protect your business. Document your work. Take before-and-after pictures when appropriate. Keep communication professional and in writing. Set clear expectations. And most importantly, KNOW WHEN TO WALK AWAY FROM A CLIENT.
Not every client is your client.
One bad experience does not erase every beautiful home you've cleaned, every customer who trusts you, every referral you've earned, or every mile you've driven building something from the ground up.
Keep learning. Keep improving. Keep your receipts. 😂 And KEEP GOING.
Your business wasn't built by one person's opinion, and it shouldn't be destroyed by one either. 💪🧹❤️
