For those of you who don't already know, I have transitioned to a new job and will be downsizing the nursery. The website has been taken down and I am now selling remaining stock by appointment. We had a great time hosting a farm to table dinner for the Carteret Local Food Network this past Saturday! Thanks to everyone who came out and to the volunteers who made sure everything ran so smoothly.

It was wonderful to see old friends and meet new ones. The meal was delicious thanks to Chef Caroline Dominguez and crew and the conversation was lively. Make sure to treat yourself and go ahead and get tickets for their next farm to table event! You won’t regret it.

The nursery will be open Saturday from 9-3. You'll find plenty of beautiful natives such as the Carolina Lupine below, which is currently in full bloom in the nursery. This perennial is a striking legume with large, lupine-like flower spikes rising up to 5 feet in late spring through early summer.

Come celebrate Earth Day and support local pollinators by bringing home a native plant such as Joe Pye W**d (below). Joe Pye W**d tends to get a bad wrap given that it has 'w**d' in it's name, but it's a beautiful and beneficial native perennial that you won't want to get rid of. It grows 4-6 feet, prefers full sun, is heat and drought tolerant, and is a true butterfly magnet.

Below is Cutleaf Coneflower, a sunflower-like native perennial that can grow 3-10 feet! It's easily grown in well-drained soil, partial to full sun, and it tolerates hot and humid summers.

Aromatic Aster might just be the plant you didn't know you needed! Native, hardy, low-maintenance, drought resistant, supports native pollinators and fragrant- what's not to love?

This Aster grows into a 3 foot hedge-like mound that blooms from spring to fall and is sure to have the pollinators flocking to your yard. It likes full sun and moderate to dry soil.
