Olive Branch Aquaponics Update

At this time, we will be taking a step back from building greenhouses and installing aquaponics systems.

Over the years, we’ve put a lot into helping others get started, and we’ve learned that true success in aquaponics doesn’t come from installation alone, it comes from ongoing stewardship, commitment to your system and understanding how to operate it in balance.

Right now, we feel led to step back and focus on our farm and the Olive Branch Pioneer Mercantile we believe this is the next step for OBA!

We are grateful for everyone who has trusted us, supported us, and walked this journey with us.

We will still be posting photos and videos of what we are doing so keep following!

We will share any future updates if and when that direction changes.

But you can’t do everything you want” -Bob Rider

✅ Get to know him:

Bob Rider is the founder of Olive Branch Aquaponics and has spent more than 20 years studying, practicing, and teaching aquaponics as part of a working homestead. His journey has been shaped by real-world experience, learning firsthand that aquaponics is not a magic fix-all but it is a powerful and essential part of a complete, self-sustaining system.
What began as an effort to grow clean food has grown into something much deeper. Today, Bob uses aquaponics to help feed livestock, produce natural fertilizers, and restore soil health, strengthening the independence and resilience of the entire homestead. His work demonstrates that aquaponics is far more than growing lettuce, it is a living system that supports animals, enriches the land, and contributes to true ecological balance.
Through Olive Branch Aquaponics, Bob has helped families, homesteaders, and communities build systems that restore food independence and reconnect people to the source of their nutrition. He teaches from decades of hands-on experience, offering practical knowledge, honest insight, and a vision for building sustainable homesteads prepared for the future, whatever it may hold.

Wondering how to keep your chickens up out of the mud this season here is how we do it. We buy old hay for about $$20 a bale and we roll it out in the chicken coop. This gets them up out of the mud & helps with coccidiosis! If you have a smaller coop, you could probably just do square bales
