Hello friends,
It's been an enjoyable season so far with visits from customers old and new... from Siberia to Blue Hill, Brooks to Belfast, Glenburn to Rockland. We've enjoyed every visit.

Folks have been excited about the paw paws grown from our own seeds! We invite you to come check them out, along with elderberry and American hazelnut. We're wrapping up National Pollinator Week, so it's a good note to share that our Eastern ninebark (Physocarpus opulifolius) are ready to go to work for your pollinators as an early nectar and pollen source. White flowers are followed by seed pods that provide food for birds. The elderberries are just beginning to bloom, and it's time to get things planted!

Hoping for a beautiful Saturday tomorrow... finally?

Email or message us if you would like to drop by in the coming days.

Hello friends!
Well, the weekend weather has overall not been too friendly this season, but today is glorious and we hope the sunshine continues. We're available rain or shine and open by appointment, so give us a shout if you would like to come by!

We are very excited to finally offer our own pawpaw seedlings for sale! Pawpaws are the largest edible native American tree fruit and they taste like mango and banana. The trees are beautiful. We are offering them in pairs as they are not self-fertile (you need 2 genetically different plants for fruit) for $50. These seedlings have been grown from the fruit of our own trees - grown here in Belfast, ME... a labor of love with over 15 years of trial, error and patience. The seedlings are 3+ years young and ready to join your gardens.

Additionally, we have Eastern ninebark (Physocarpus opulifolius) pollinator shrubs, and American hazelnut (Corylus americana).

American elderberry plants include 'Aurea' (Golden elderberry), 'Fryeburg,' 'Goodbarn,' and 'Mattawamkeag,' and a European/American elderberry cross cultivar 'Marge' which was selected for its large juicy berries.

We've got showy milkweed for the monarch butterflies, lavender bergamot (beebalm) which the hummingbird moths and bees love, and a few other things like Bensonhurst Purple hardy fig.

A reminder that we don't publish our home nursery address in order to keep our blind kitty safe from unexpected traffic in our driveway. Please email [email protected] or message us if you'd like to set a time to come visit, and we'll send you directions. We're easy to find in Belfast.

Can't wait to see you!

Come see us this weekend for perennials & elderberry plants! Please send a message or email about when you'd like to drop by, and we will send you the directions.

We've got showy milkweed for the monarch butterflies, lavender bergamot (beebalm) which the hummingbird moths and bees love, purple & yellow giant hyssops (a great nectar source for pollinators), and baptisia (which is about to bloom!).

Elderberry plants include 'Aurea' (Golden elderberry), 'Fryeburg,' 'Goodbarn,' and 'Mattawamkeag,' and European cultivar 'Marge' which was selected for its large juicy berries.

*TEASER for next season: We'll be offering pawpaw trees grown from our own seeds, and this is a great chance to drop by and see what the mature trees and their flowers look like! Pawpaws are the largest edible fruit native to the US. They taste something like a cross between mango and banana!

Looking forward to seeing you!

As a sidenote: Since officially starting in 2021, we haven’t published our address online. This has been for the safety of our pets (vehicle traffic in driveway), and due to the fact that we are a small seasonal business based out of our home. This has worked well and we’re grateful to everyone who entertains the mystery, and follows the potting-mix trails to find new plants! See you soon.

So sad to hear this news. In our brief time knowing her, Carol was supportive of our little business. She was so knowledgeable and had an amazing history connected with distinguished botanists & plant breeders. She was happy to share her knowledge and to learn new things. We enjoyed our conversations and we will think of her every time we tend the plants we got from her.

It is with great sadness that we share the passing of our great friend, gardening mentor, and plantswoman supreme, Carol Yee. She left this life on June 19th after a short illness, but will forever live on in our heats and gardens. Carol’s Collectibles Nursery will be closed for at least a week. We will post updates here on business reopening plans. As Carol might have said, the rain has come, the sun will shine and now is the best time to plant,” so get out there n the garden roll, up your sleeves and plant one for Carol. A celebration of Carol's life is in the works for later in the summer.
