💧 If you’re interested in saving water and saving money in the process this is a symposium worth checking out!
The Bastrop County Master Gardeners are bringing together an impressive lineup of speakers for their Water Conservation Symposium on September 26.
I’m especially excited to hear from:

🌱 Jane Duke, PhD — soil food webs and the living world beneath our feet
💧 Robert Mace, PhD — Texas water, groundwater and sustainability
🌿 Ben Gillilan — Texas natives and wildlife-supporting landscapes

And I’m honored to be joining them as a speaker as well! I’ll be sharing some practical landscape strategies for using less water while creating a beautiful, resilient Texas garden.

I recently had the opportunity to join the Fine Gardening podcast to talk about one of my favorite topics—drought-tolerant plants. What made the experience even more special was sharing the conversation with Ed Lyon, an accomplished horticulturist, author, former director of Reiman Gardens at Iowa State University, and longtime public garden leader. He’s spent decades educating gardeners and writing for Fine Gardening, so it was a real honor to talk plants alongside someone with that depth of knowledge.
