๐Ÿ’ง Weekend Thought from All Pumps & Well Repairs ๐Ÿ’ง

In a world where good customer service seems harder and harder to find, it's refreshing to support businesses that genuinely care about their customers and take pride in their work.

Small businesses are the backbone of our communities. Behind every service call, order, and purchase is a family working hard, supporting employees, and doing their best to serve their neighbors.

This weekend, we encourage everyone to shop local, support small businesses, and show a little appreciation for those who go the extra mile.

Thank you to all the small businesses that continue to serve their communities with pride.

๐ŸŒช๏ธ Hurricane Season Starts Monday โ€“ But We Sure Could Use Some Rain! ๐ŸŒช๏ธโ˜€๏ธ๐Ÿ’ง

Hurricane season officially begins Monday, and while many of us are hoping for some much-needed rain to help with the drought conditions, it only takes one storm to remind us why preparation is so important.

For homeowners with wells:

๐Ÿ”‹ Make sure your generator is ready and large enough to efficiently run your well system if the power goes out.
๐ŸŒณ Trim any tree and limbs hanging over or near your well equipment to help prevent storm damage.
โ›ฝ Keep extra fuel on hand.
๐Ÿšฐ Store emergency drinking water.
๐Ÿ”ฆ Check flashlights, batteries, and emergency supplies.
๐Ÿ”ง Address any well or pump issues before a storm arrives.

Many areas are already seeing wells struggling due to the dry conditions. A good soaking rain would certainly be welcomed, but hurricane season also brings the possibility of strong winds, flooding, and extended power outages.

Let's all hope for the rain we need, without the storms we don't. Stay prepared, stay safe, and don't wait until a hurricane is on the radar to make a plan.

We've been asking for it and, thankfully, we've seen an uptick in rainfall this month. Since May 1, the District has averaged an estimated 3.99 inches of rain, which is already higher than the long-term average for the month. Some areas have received significantly more - O'Leno State Park in Columbia County has received 6.46 inches of rain, and Hopewell Tower in Madison has received 6.72 inches of rain. And there's the potential for more on the way this week.

This does not, of course, mean the drought has gone away. To alleviate the 20-inch rainfall deficit, we're going to need quite a bit more rain, so we still need to be mindful of our water use and continue implementing water conservation measures.

But this is a good start!

While we are thankful for the recent rainfall and hopeful tomorrow's forecast brings more rain to our area, drought conditions persist across the District and Florida. District counties remain under a Phase II Water Shortage Order, which includes maintaining a one day per week landscape irrigation schedule. We continue to ask our residents, visitors, and businesses to continue in their water conservation efforts.

This weekend saw beneficial rainfall for all of the District, though it varied based on where you live. Jefferson County saw the highest total with around 1.87 inches of rain, while Taylor County only saw around 0.19 inches. The Districtwide average was around 0.8 inches of rain.

How much did you get where you are?

Current forecasts show for a potentially rainy end to the week, which of course will help with our current drought conditions.
