Edge restraints are non-negotiable for paver patios and walkways. Without them, the entire surface shifts and separates over time, no matter how well it's laid.
We use heavy-duty plastic or aluminum edging buried along the perimeter to lock everything in place. It keeps the base from spreading, prevents individual pavers from creeping outward, and maintains those clean, sharp lines for years.
Skip this step and you're looking at sagging edges and gaps that only get worse. Proper edging means your hardscape stays level, secure, and looking as strong as the day it was installed.
