Many older parcel lockers were built to the USPS specifications in place at the time, but newer design revisions incorporate security improvements intended to make theft and forced entry more difficult.

Ever wonder how a USPS Cluster Box Unit (CBU) parcel locker works?

When a CBU is at capacity or a package is too large to fit inside a resident’s mailbox, the mail carrier places it in a secure parcel locker and leaves a key in the resident’s mailbox. The key provides one-time access to retrieve the package safely and securely.

Parcel lockers help reduce package theft while providing a convenient delivery solution for apartment complexes, HOAs, townhomes, and community mailbox installations.
