We were doing the Lord's work this morning. Barnett Construction and Remodeling under the banner of Texas Ramps and a slew of local volunteers from Washington and Austin County constructed a beautiful ramp for a family that otherwise would be a prisoner in their own home. This wheelchair accessible ramp will allow for safe egress and allow proper access for in home medical personnel. Special thanks to Michael and Joseph Barnett, Butch and Mikey Meier, Steed Lazrine, Jim Kelly, Tony Stewart, Jimmy, Mr. Pllagens, Leo and friend and so many others. The response to the Call for DUTY was heartwarming and overwhelming. Thanks again to Texas Ramps for bringing this invaluable service back to Austin County. Thank you to Judge Tim Lapham for helping us put out the call. As my momma says "there is a special place in heaven for you"

Texas Ramp Project is an essential non-profit that operates state-wide. Texas Ramp Project is a 501.c.3 charity. Texas Ramp Project provides cost free ramps to individuals who have medical or financial based needs for wheelchair access into their homes in order for medical visits or safe egress.. Through the efforts of Barnett Construction the services provided by Texas Ramps is now again available to residents of Austin County. However, to continue offering these services to those in need in Austin County we need manpower. We will be building two ramps. The first will begin Saturday, August 16th at 614 South Masonic at 730 a.m. As badly as Barnett Construction wants to keep this service available we need volunteers for these projects. Please help us continue to serve Austin County by providing us with the help we need. All materials are provided by Texas Ramp Projects which are funded through private donations Please contact Mike Barnett at 979 270 1203 with any questions.
