Bedroom Renovation

This client had a kid on the way, so they wanted to update the room. This involved removing all the old baseboard, the casing and the old door. I then installed new baseboard, casing, custom wainscoting, and a chair rail. I then masked everything off. Next, I filled all the nail holes, scuff sanded, caulked, primed, scuff sanded again, wiped down, and then sprayed 2 coats of SW Emerald Urethane Trim Enamel. The door I took to my shop to spray. That and hallway casing were painted with Pro Classics, which the client had from another room's project. I then took down the masking and cleaned up.

Remove Suspended Tile Ceiling Renovation

Project 3 of 3 for the landlords. This was quite the project. I had a small idea of what I was getting into, peering behind the tile, but it much more extensive than what could be seen. I moved a gas line into the floor joists, moved wiring into the joists, properly braced the light cups, replaced a bunch of drywall, repaired some, added more along the concrete wall, framed out the exposed plumbing and dryer duct, and drywalled that as well. Meshed, mudded and skip trowel texture, applied a primer, but the old drywall bleed through, so I then went with a stain blocking primer, and 2 coats of paint. Finally, I installed the lights and access panels, removed the masking and cleaned up.

Custom Floating Shelves.

I framed out this fireplace a while back. The client had a fireplace company install the gas fire place and a stone Mason for the stone. To finish off the project, the client asked for some custom floating shelves. Using some heavy duty floating shelf brackets from I was able to pull it off. Top two shelves were 13 inches deep and the bottom shelves are 16 inches deep. The client asked me to use old wood from a deconstructed building. The wanted the character preserved as much as possible, so I didn't plane out the bends, twists and imperfections. After ripping down the 11" wide boards to the necessary size, I joined them via wood glue, pocket screws and clamps. I then sanded them with 120, stained with dark walnut, applied 1 coat of Satin Polyurethane, installed the brackets, made mortises for said brackets on be back of the boards, installed and then applied one more coat of polyurethane, in place. Unfortunately the floating brackets alone, weren't enough for the record shelf. So additional brackets along the fireplace had to be installed.

Popcorn Ceiling Removal

Project 1 of 3 for the landlords. With how dirty this project was going to be, I masked off everything. I soaked the area in small sections and scraped off the Popcorn texture. I then did some repairs, skim coated the Ceiling and then sprayed a medium orange peel texture, primed and painted, 2 coats. I then removed all the masking and did a thorough cleaning.

Finished January 16th.

Commercial Renovation

Due to an expansion of the college at , they had me remove a wall and door that I had installed almost 2 years prior. Lots of work here. I was very thankful for the scissor lift. Removed drywall, insulation, 19 ft studs and supports, and the door. I then patched the drywall, primed and painted, installed new cove base and replaced the carpet tile.

This project was started before Christmas and Finished on New Years day.

This is the half bath, master bath and bedroom that I mentioned in the previous post. These 3 rooms, were just walls and no ceiling paint. Each room had some drywall repairs that needed to be taken care of and retextured. I also caulked all the trim, counters and vanities touching the walls. 2 Coats of Sherwin Williams Cashmere Eggshell.

Fireplace Renovation

This fireplace had an unusual shape above it that customer had been wanting to get rid of for 20 years. So I masked off the area, demo'd that, installed new framing, an electrician added the hdmi and outlet, I installed a new mantel, after removing a row of existing stone, drywalled, meshed and mudded, sanded and applied a knockdown texture. They then had me prime and paint it all.

The couple liked everything so much, that they had me paint their entire upper floor - ceiling, kitchen, dining room, entry way, 2 hallways, master bedroom and bath, a half bath, the stairway leading to the basement and the great room. Unfortunately, I lost those images when transferring phones.

Master Bathroom Drywall Repair.

This bathroom had multiple areas where the drywall tape failed(prime reason that I always use Mesh tape) as well as some water damage from a leaking sky light(previously repaired) and some cracking drywall. I removed the damaged areas, re-secured the drywall around the cracks, mesh taped, mudded, sanded and applied a knockdown texture to match. Customer opted to prime and paint.

I have been slacking on my social media. Here was a garage I worked on at the end of October into November 1st. I installed insulation in between the roof joists and exposed walls, installed new drywall on said walls, repaired the existing drywall(extensive), mesh taped, added corner beads, mudded, sanded and did a heavy orange peel texture. I left the masking up and let the customer rent my paint pump, so they could paint it themselves.
