Our mom passed away yesterday 10/3 at noon. I was heading to Omaha around 3pm yesterday so I could spend Wednesday and Thursday keeping an eye on her / hanging with her. Why she passed away 2 hours before we were going to take her HOME I’ll never understand.

We found out she had cancer in June, helped her through chemo, what a trooper. On 9/10 she had a bad heart attack. That same week we found out her tumor was so small it was nearly non existent in just 3 months of chemo! The doctors were even WOWED how well the tumor type responded to the chemo so quickly!

She had a pretty good week this last week of physical therapy and I talked on the phone to her monday afternoon. She didn’t feel good but was happy to tell me she was being discharged Tuesday. I said I know I’ll see you Wednesday I’m heading to town!

We are all heartbroken. All she wanted to do was come home & go back to work eventually at hyvee so she could see her friends and hand out samples again.

She sold so much stuff at hyvee the various department would try to get her to be their demo lady 🤣. She was proud of that.

I’m in Omaha. We are going to the funeral

Almost George’s 1 year adoptiversary! From a kill shelter just hours away from being euthanized to a home full of love and lots of brothers. Thanks to Unleashed Pet Rescue and Adoption Volunteers and Supporters for all of the animals they save, the number they save is seriously unbelievable! They couldn’t do it without us fosters & adopters! If you have even a bit of space in your home many fosters dogs and cats just need a place to crash for a couple weeks until they find their forever home. The more fosters that help the more animals shelters can pull from kill shelters and save! Please be their voice! We can save them all. Fostering is on our horizon again soon!!! (And I promise not to keep this time so I can foster more & more ) . We have 7 pets can’t you just have 1,2,3? All animals on their website that have the status INTAKE are at the shelter and need a place to crash. Many animals don’t thrive at the shelter and they thrive in a home, so when an adopter comes to visit them at a home or park etc VS. a shelter their chance to be adopted is higher!
