This central Texas residence had good architecture and quality stone, but the entry was lacking character. It did not reflect the elegance of the interior or the owner style. What changed was intention. We took the columns from cream to deep stain wood, grounding the porch, and giving the entry real weight, the trim front door and dormers were changed to a deep black to sharpen the lines and let the limestone read, clean and warm beside them. The lanterns were warm to bronze and scaled to the door rather than dwarfed by it. We added layered rosebuds for depth and color and low landscape lighting so the walkway hold his presence from afternoon through desk. The result is a home that reads with confidence at every hour and an arrival that sets the tone for everything within.
