Family Project steps + timeline
Exterior repairs (12/27 thru 5/1)
1. Power reconnected – completed on 12/22
2. Dumpster for clean up exterior + interior – Eric ordered, arrived on 12/28
3. Pull Repair Permit – Chantelle is talking with Chris Fuchs at Benton Township, will write narrative of work to be done and pull permit. Week of 1/3 – submitted on 1/5, awaiting approval
4. Set up Zip Wall zipper curtain between kitchen + living room. Week of 12/27 - done
5. Get estimates for Truss repairs, Roofing repair/replacement, wall repair/insulation/building wrap – Hired Guns Roofing contacted – Chantelle/Jeremy met on site 12/28, John is getting carpenter to come out on 1/3 – awaiting estimate from John, Chantelle in contact
6. Submit new estimate for HSA grant / or other funds as needed (Sheila/Phil/Kendra) – check requirements, info needed – Can GC name be changed and still proceed? Can separate grant be submitted for truss work costs? – week of 1/3, Kendra is asking questions about additional grants, 30 day window for submissions
7. Complete Truss repairs / replace as needed – weeks of 1/10 – 1/17 Repair or replace all damaged wood elements of trusses and/or rebuild trusses as needed on site to meet all applicable code requirements.
8. Complete Roof repairs /patching deck as needed - week of 1/17 Repair all damaged wood deck, underlayments, insulation, shingles and ridge vents as needed to meet all applicable code requirements.
9. Complete Wall repairs / sheathing, insulation, building wrap as needed - week of 1/10/22
10. Cover broken windows with plastic sheeting – until replacements are found – completed in Nov/Dec
More to continue into the spring 1/15 thru 5/1….as materials are found and weather is good.
11. New windows – 4 or more – need measurements, match existing as close as possible
12. New siding – Jeremy has some, is it enough?, check dimensions
13. New side door – 32 x 78, prehung door needed
14. New front wheelchair ramp + railings (church group may fund this – confirm timing for install – get quote from carpenter?)
15. New back deck – stabilize railings, add ramp down to yard – get quote from carpenter
Interiors repairs (2/1 thru 5/1) – after taking a break, and finding more materials – start interior repairs
1. Replace subfloors thru kitchen, master bedroom and master bath
2. Replace kitchen cabinets + counters – make accessible (check height with Kendra for wheelchair reach)
3. New LVP (luxury vinyl plank) flooring throughout home – remove all carpeting + linoleum, check subfloors throughout, prep for new flooring (Chantelle can get LVP at Restore for $1/sf or less)
4. Expand shower in master – make accessible with grab bars, roll in – fully tiled or unit shower
5. New ceilings, walls patched where needed
6. New lighting fixtures where needed (Jeremy/Phil do wiring, guidance from Charlie or another electrician to confirm code compliance)
7. Plumbing repairs where needed – need to confirm if any leaks or damage in crawlspace
8. HVAC repairs/replacement where needed – need to confirm / test piping with gas company – Kendra to contact
9. Appliance repairs/replacement as needed – confirm which can be fixed, which must be replaced – Jeremy + Kendra to test
10. Other items that are needed or wanted while we are at it?
