We want to say thank you to our customers this peach season 2025. We had a wonderful crop of peaches. 🍑
We hope that each customer enjoyed the delicious juicy peaches this year! We were delighted to see many returning customers and families. Thank you for your faithful support and returning year after year. We also welcomed many new customers who were traveling through the area looking for something to do in the area. We thank you for finding Higbee’s Farm.
As we close out the 190 th year that our family owned farm has been here…
We want to share an update. This update does come with sadness as we close out the peach season, we want to inform everyone that our beloved James F. Higbee owner and 7 the generation Peach farmer has ended this peach season here on earth.
Despite being diagnosed with lung cancer in November 2024 and going to appointments he was dedicated to keeping the farm going. Especially since we lost the crop last year due to the harsh winter. Jim did everything he could to get up every day to work the farm.
He was riding his lawnmower around this summer and in the last weeks we would see him driving around with the oxygen tank in the wagon. He truly loved his farm, peaches and the customers. And don’t forget Barney the farm dog! All the dogs, who lived at the farm over the years! Jim and Barney knew every inch and corner and peach tree on the farm. He was not able to be out driving the big tractors or being outside eating peaches or visiting with customers as he used to do.. Jim would sit inside the house and watch from the window. Seeing car loads of people driving in to pick peaches made Jim smile and very proud of all his work. Jim was truly a man of God and wanted nothing less to bless others with a perfect peach. 🍑 He often would say that there is nothing better than a fresh juicy peach on a hot summer day!
Jim loved eating his peaches cut up and with sugar on them. And that he did many times this summer.
We would appreciate all stories and memories you have had on our farm. We will be working to keep the farm alive in the years ahead. Thank you for a wonderful season!
We are thankful to everyone who have called, prayed, supported and visited the farm over the years. As we say goodbye to the 2025 peach season we are truly grateful for the years Jim dedicated his life to his family farm.
A memorial service will be held to honor James F. Higbee on September 19, 2025.
