Jude Lane Succulent Gardens A little garden center with a beautiful selection of cold-hardy sempervivum succulents & sedums.

I came outside to find that some really nice person(s) dropped off a container of hens & chicks that were dug up from a yard. For the life of me i cant figure out who it’s from. So, if it was from someone on here, thank you so much! It definitely made my day! I’ll set the tub aside in case you come back. ❤️

Does an awesome mom you know love cold-hardy succulents (Sempervivum) and sedum? I was lucky enough to sell some Mother’s Day succulent baskets without posting, but these are what I currently have left,

2 sizes (3 left in each size), cash only:
$15 for small basket with the concrete hearts
$20 for larger baskets with concrete birds

* Remember, semps and sedums do best outdoors in good draining soil where they receive lots of light.

I’m located near Millburg, MI, but I can meet up or drop off at your place in Benton Harbor, St. Joe, Coloma, or Watervliet.
Thanks for looking and Happy Mother’s Day!!

Hello! I hope you all are enjoying this beautiful Spring! I do plan on being open for summer #2, however, I’m unsure at the moment when opening day will be and which hours to have.

Meanwhile, I’ve een busy prepping semps and sedums and making a few awesome Mother’s Day baskets. I’ll post those soon.

Image: Sunsparkler Angelina’s Teacup sedum. Bright green in summer, but in the cooler months the colors are as shown. So gorgeous!

Due to limited stock I’ll be closing for the season. THANK YOU so much for visiting my site, whether it was my literal site location on Territorial or this fb site.

I was dipping my toes in the water and learning as I went. I found that a little plant business is more difficult than I originally thought it could be, but I’m still up for the challenge.

I appreciate all the advice and positivity received from customers, neighbors, and new friends! I hope to see you next year when I reopen.

Also, if anyone ever wants to take a look at what plants I still have just message me. I’ll be more than happy to show you! Fall is an excellent time to plant cold-hardy succulents. As long as they’re planted in good draining soil and have time to grow roots before temperatures drop too low they should be good to go before winter dormancy hits.

This week I’ll only be open on Saturday 10:00-6:00 because my sister is visiting from North Dakota. So, we’ll be heading to the beach! (Except not the closer beaches due to this crazy E Coli madness) Stay safe out there!

The two succulents in the first picture are the same age and variety (Chick Charm Giants Steel Appeal). Do your indoor or outdoor succulents resemble plant A, where the leaves are turning downward, or plant B, leaves curled up? If you said B, your plant is happy with the light it’s getting!
One reason for downward leaves in succs is that the leaves are trying to provide the plant with more light by increasing the leaf’s surface area. Another reason could be overwatering, but in this case it needs more light. I had plant A growing in part shade while plant B was pretty much in full sun.

The 2nd photo, from pixels.com, shows the left 2 plants with downturned leaves, but one is also very stretched out (some call it etiolation). If your plants are doing one or both of these try moving them to a brighter location, if possible.

Telephone poles are being replaced in Territorial in front of my place. Traffic will be difficult at times and may be near impossible to pull in or out of the driveway. So, I’ll be closed probably until next week. I hope to see you then!!

Sedum album ‘Coral Carpet’ is currently undergoing a color transformation to a beautiful pink/red. Come Fall the leaves will turn a deep bronze/red. This variety is perfect as a ground cover, in containers, and breathtaking in rock walls! A prolific spreader with a height of 3-6”. Some sources state that it prefers a more dry soil, but these are thriving despite all the rain we’ve had. Like all succulent varieties at Jude Lane, these are cold-hardy.

Over the weeks I’ve seen more than a few cars pull into my drive and then back out. I figured they were just turning around, but it happens too often. Now, I think people pull in for the succulents, but give it a second thought since it looks like a garage sale instead of a cute plant shoppe. This setup isn’t ideal, but it works for now.
Please don’t feel uncomfortable or that you’re being intrusive pulling in to my place. I have a great selection of cold-hardy succs and sedums wanting to be planted in YOUR yard!
If I’m not outside around the plants, I’m either watching from the house (I have a very needy/anxious dog!) or I’m working and watching from the garage. You can park right on my lawn.

How is everyone handling this heat/humidity? It’s terrible out there! If you can tolerate standing outdoors to check out these 2.5” pot Emerald Explosion Chick Charm Giants, I have discounted them by 25% due to some leaves having insect damage. I kept the tray on the ground so I’m pretty sure it was slug damage. It’s only aesthetic since those leaves will eventually die with age.

As sempervivum succulents grow, the older bottom leaves die off and shrivel up. This is totally normal. If I have a potted semp, I gently pull off the shriveled leaves when completely dry. If they’re in the ground, I leave them be and let nature do its thing. It’s really your own personal preference and/or the amount of work you want to put into it.

Regular price for 2.5” Emerald Explosion Giants = $5.90 + tx.
Discounted price = $4.43 + tx.
I only have 18!
