Happy summer everyone! ✨🌞 We have some big news to share and even though it's actually a door closing we're posting today with immense gratitude and joy! Over a year ago, we jumped into this grand experiment, with a dream to share zero waste with our local community. We were so amazed and grateful for the enthusiasm and support from our first customers, to those who stopped at events to talk with us and learn about zero waste, and to everyone who shopped local at our booth at Chestnut Street Mini Mall. We are so grateful for each and every one of you!!

As we navigated the Berea retail scene and a major life change of going back to work full time (!), it became more and more clear that at this point in our lives, we just don't have the resources and time to grow Hopscotch Home Co. into a profitable business. But even though this is a chapter closing, we are forever grateful that we got to bring our dream to life for a little while, and learned so many things we never could have known without jumping wholeheartedly into the business world! We have immense admiration for all the small business owners in Berea who are navigating the very challenging world of brick + mortar!!

We still have lots of zero waste goods, and even some new inventory (!) that we'll be marking on sale soon at the booth. Everything will be 20% off starting on Monday June 26th!! So plan to stop by and stock up on your favorite plastic free goods at a great price!

We're also very excited to announce that Happy Meadow is considering carrying some of our favorite bestsellers! Things like Huppy toothpaste tablets, compostable toothbrushes and dental floss, Little Seed Farm deodorant, and plastic free shaving soap and reusable razors to name a few. We'd love to hear if you're interested in buying zero waste goods locally at Happy Meadow and hope this will be one great outcome of our zero waste venture.

Thank you SO much for supporting zero waste in our little town, and even though our journey in small business is coming to a close we know there are so many good things to come!! Keep an eye out for updates about the big sale coming soon and let’s keep loving our beautiful planet any way we can! 🌎🌱✨

We’re starting to fill up the booth inside Chestnut St Mini Mall with delightful vintage goods 😍✨! We’re focusing on functional, beautiful items you’ll use every day, as well as some whimsical goodies too, and are adding new items every day! 🌈⚡️We can’t wait to share all our fun vintage finds for picnics, tea time (our favorite!), everyday cooking/dining and low waste, cozy living. 🌞🌸

We also have some new zero waste cleaning brushes hitting the shelves this week so keep an eye out for those. And we’re working on restocking all your favorite zero waste essentials, like Swedish dish cloths, compostable sponges and dish brushes! 🫧🧽🌱 Can’t wait to see you soon!

Dear friends, thank you so much for following along and sticking with us while we navigate running a small business (such a big learning curve!!! 😬😱).

We’ve been facing some big logistical challenges with the bulk station and unfortunately have come to the conclusion that we have to put this part of the shop on hold. 😭 We’re truly sorry as we know bulk refills are a great option to have locally, and we really hope we can make this happen in the future, once we have better insight about how to realistically sustain a bulk station.

While we’re sad to share that news we do have some good news too - we’re excited to tell you that we’re updating the booth to make it easier to find all the zero waste essentials you need, and we’re adding vintage goods to our offerings! ⚡️🌞

We LOVE vintage and are so excited to curate a fun, colorful selection of functional, beautiful home goods! Vintage is a great zero waste option, and so much better for our planet than buying brand new, so we hope you’ll come check us out soon! 🌱✨

Hello friends!! We’ve been working away behind the scenes, even though it feels like we don’t have much to show yet 😩 - but we had some really exciting news this week that we’re so excited to share! We finally have a workspace!!! ✨🌞🎉

One of our biggest challenges since starting up last year has been finding an affordable office/workspace 😭 and we’ve been trying to make it work, but it’s been really tough. So this is a huge step forward and we’re so grateful! We even get to share the space with some other local creatives 😍 and there’s a few offices left if anyone is looking for office space. 👀🎉 Message us for info or reach out to Shannon Devere Rentals LLC - we’d love to see this space full of local creative entrepreneurs! 🌱✨

Progress update! It doesn’t look like much yet, but this will be the new bulk station! We’ve been thrifting, upcycling and scouring Marketplace listings to find displays/shelves and we’ll spiff these up with some paint and TLC, and can’t wait to show you the result soon! 🌱✨ Thanks for sticking with us as we navigate the huge learning curve that is small business!

Good things take time…This is our mantra for 2023! ⏰✨ We’re still plugging away at updating the booth but have had some delays due to sickness and family obligations, so the bulk station is closed today.

We’re super excited to be nearing our one year anniversary 🎉🎉 and have lots of new things we’ll be adding this year! It’s taking longer than we hoped, but we’re trying to stay healthy as we balance family, work, and small business. Thanks for your patience and support!!! 🌱🌞
