"What a mess." Think we have all said and heard that phrase a few hundred times these last few days.

We have had over 50 calls in the last two days and are just as overwhelmed as you, the folks we are happy to serve! If we have missed your call or havent gotten back to you yet, we will reach out when things have settled down a bit. We would love to help everyone, but we can only be in one place at a time.

As the week goes on and clean up efforts continue, please bare with us, as we work to clear high priority trees on structures, or those that have great potential to cause structural damage.

And if you happen to see Brett on a jobsite, congratulate him, as they welcomed a healthy baby girl into the world in the midst of last nights storm!

If you have trees within falling distance of your house, take a few minutes and evaluate them next time you are outside. The joints between trunk and branch are where failures (cracks) are most likely to show. Large mushrooms are also a good warning sign.

In the past 4 days, we have had 7 different clients reach out about trees failing. 5 out of 7 have been Hackeberry trees, like the one pictured here. It seems to be that time of year, where a combination of spring growth, and higher wind loads are proving too much for some of the weaker joints that Hackeberrys are prone to have, Maples are also a big culprit.

Easy job for a rainy day. We cut this small-mid size ash tree down, stuffed it all into the back of the trailer, ground the stump and trimmed a few other trees all in the span of 3hrs.

Every once in a while we bite off a little more than we can chew, but somehow we always get it done. These 3 white poplars were roughly 85ft tall. It is amazing what you can do with some good rope, and a few nylon loop runners. Some of the tallest trees we have fell in Vermillion without a doubt.

Todays gig! We removed a large maple in Vermillion that had taken serious damage in the recent storms. A large limb broke off revealing a hollow and rotting trunk, so we decided the safest option would be to remove it completely. Back to strom work in Lennox tomorrow!

The first photo was taken at 12:56pm while Brett was putting his harness on, getting geared up to tackle this monstrous hackberry. The second was taken at 5:16pm when I had returned with some parts, hoping to get our woodchipper eating limbs like an angry beaver again (still not there, blowing fuses and can't find where it's shorting out at). It's amazing what can be accomplished in a few short hours. We have a love/hate relationship with removing large old trees, we hate to see them go, but if it has to be done we'd love to be the guys doing it. This particular tree had previously been cabled in a few different places to keep it together as it was splitting at the first main crotch, and unfortunately carpenter ants had their way with the southern most portion and it had turned into too much of a hazard.

Today marks one year since Brett Holmberg became a business owner with myself. I could not be more proud of how far we have come! In 2017 I had one chainsaw and was using my dads trucks, and here we are now. You would be hard pressed to find a crew that hustles like ours, when we are on site we keep going until the job is done or it's to dark to work. We try to leave our customers with their jaws on the ground. We are currently booked about a month out but we are marching down the list trying to make up for lost time due to breakdowns, but still happy to take on new clients. We would like to thank everyone that has worked with us, we wouldn't be here without you!

Today we were tasked with removing a large section of a hackberry that landed on our clients roof. We had to create a rigging point so we could set lines to keep it suspended as we worked it away from the house to where it finally lay.

We are now the proud owners of an 880 Magnum! This thing is an absolute beast of a unit, with a 122cc engine this saw is sitting comfortably at the top of the food chain. A 47 inch bar means you will be hard pressed to find a tree this thing can't put on the ground. And a full wrap handle so the 2 of us can hang onto it when it bucks😉
