Something exciting is just getting started at 2740. 🧡

A ground-floor bedroom and bathroom remodel designed for wheelchair accessibility and aging in place — and we couldn't be more excited to get to work. Projects like this one are becoming increasingly important to us, meeting the real needs of homeowners who want to stay in the homes and neighborhoods they love for the long haul. More to come as this one unfolds.

A sculptural rear elevation transforms this historic Berkeley bungalow. Smooth stucco walls, dark steel railings, and wide openings create a contemporary expression that invites light, air, and living that spills naturally into the open air.

Craftsman details define this serene bedroom, where Douglas fir ceilings, warm wood flooring, and expansive windows fill the space with natural light. The restrained palette of soft whites and natural wood highlights the timeless craftsmanship of the 1909 Berkeley home.

Honored to see this thoughtful reflection from on one of our latest projects.

Our approach for the John Galen Howard house was to preserve what made the home enduring while carefully evolving it for how it's lived in today.

The goal was never to overwrite, but to reveal—to let the architecture continue its story with clarity and intention. Grateful for the opportunity to contribute to a home with such a rich legacy.

Recently came across these early drawings from the Berkeley Repertory Theatre project. These were created during my time at ELS Architecture and Urban Design, well before launching my own practice. A nice reminder of the projects and mentors that helped shape my architectural journey.

Architectural details that tell the story. This restored staircase highlights traditional Victorian millwork, from the turned balusters to the decorative scroll brackets. Each element was carefully matched and preserved during the home’s full renovation. A new modern rail leading to the excavated lower level was introduced to complement the original without mimicking it.

A Berkeley gem with an extraordinary past, this 1920s bungalow was thoughtfully revived for modern living while honoring its storied history. Rich mahogany tones and graceful arched doorways frame views into light-filled spaces, where timeless character meets modern craftsmanship in a truly one-of-a-kind restoration.
