One of the advantages of having done this work since the eighties is that I actually know how to make keys to classic cars. Primarily because I have made keys to vehicles dating back in to the seventies and before many times. This one is special. I would not mind owning it. I was able to impression the ignition key in under ten minutes. It actually took longer to touch it up and make it fit perfectly in both doors. Although, had I done it the way I was trained, that would not have been the case. I simply do not carry the same tools any more. I did this with a file and a pair of vice grips. All I really need to make most keys is a file and some key blanks.

A customer asked if I could install hardware that was not installed by another vendor. Not a problem. I will charge for my time and happily install any hardware you supply. This installation turned out well.

This is basic. If you drive a 2019 Smart and I ask what kind of car you have, please do not tell me that you drive a 2019 Mercedes. Unless you don't actually want me to help you. If you want me to help you, please understand that I am smart enough to know that your car is manufactured by Mercedes, but my software only understands the name printed on the car, not who made it.

This is a public service announcement.

My business hours are 10 AM to 5:30 PM Monday through Friday. I am generally not available for work in any capacity outside of those hours. That means, I don't respond to texts or phone calls.

If you have an emergency, or a burning desire, you can attempt to contact me. However, if I do not respond, please contact me again during business hours.

It should also be noted that I generally do not work on federal holidays. Basically, if your bank is closed, chances are, so am I.
