A few years ago I milled and built this cabin out of trees from the same property. This is a timber frame structure meaning;

(Timber framing and "post-and-beam" construction are traditional methods of building with heavy timbers, creating structures using squared-off and carefully fitted and joined timbers with joints secured by large wooden pegs.)
I milled everything but the plywood of course.
One benefit of timber frame construction is you can build with green lumber. As the beams shrink the joints tighten up. This way of building has been around for thousands of years and in Europe there are building still occupied after four hundred
years.
