Join us this Tuesday at 3:30 pm to harvest and do some garden tasks at the Proksa Children’s Garden. Bring a bag and we can send you home with some fresh herbs and greens!

The garden is located in the NE corner of the park. Street parking available on Home Ave and 29th place

Wild Ones West Cook is our local chapter, but this seminar is open to everyone.

Wild Ones: Native Plants, Natural Landscapes promotes environmentally sound landscaping practices to preserve biodiversity through the preservation, restoration and establishment of native plant communities.

Thank you so much to the Berwyn Public Library for coming out all summer. The rain held off for an extra hour and we were able to harvest basil and potatoes! We shared with everyone who was there and still had plenty to drop off to the food pantry down the street.

Storytimes in the garden are officially done for the season, but we still have lots of harvesting to do.

Join us this Sunday 2-4pm as we harvest more items, w**d and water. We can always use extra hands!

We were offered these raised beds earlier in the season and took advantage of the cooler weather this week to finally install them and plant out some end of season veggies for fall from Seguin Gardens & Gifts, one of our favorite local garden centers.

Thanks to all the families who donated the 2 previously used beds, bags and pots of soil, bagged leaf mulch and wood shavings, adding these beds cost us nothing but time and plants!

Due to the weather alerts for dangerous air quality, we are cancelling story time for this Friday, however due to a facebook glitch, the event page is not updating so far. Wanted to make sure to let folks know we cancelled.

I stopped by Berwyn Public Library this afternoon and re organized the seed library. There is still quite a good variety of summer and fall squash seeds available and okra. A few other odds and ends available as well. This is a perfect time of year to go through your personal seed packets and donate some extras you have on hand to the community!

Wanted to post an update on our stolen items being returned.

We did receive quite a bit of our stolen items back , but many things were damaged from rain , rotten food and full of maggots.

In the mean time, we have been overwhelmed by the amount of support we have received from the community. We have now received every item from our Amazon wishlist (some still in transit). Other items were donated in kind and dropped off. We are well stocked once again!

We are grateful for the support and the helping hand in getting our volunteers the tools they need to do our work!
