So you think you've seen it all. Who ever did a bondo job on this chimney decided to plug the pipe air cooling holes, smh. This no longer has the 2" clearance and can burn a house down.
Everything I installed is stainless steel and on for a long haul. New shingles, boot flashing, storm collars, and chimney caps

This is years of water infiltration. Large ant colonies and a lot of rotted wood. Someone tarred over the brick, smh. The chimney also needed repointing. Not the prettiest but we stopped the water from coming in. I love my job.

The outcome of this job made me very happy. This chimney was not safe because of a mantle installed to close to the fluetile. After removing it I found charred wood. Another chimney fire could have set this house a blaze. We installed a stainless steel chimney liner along with a new woodstove. I love my job.
