Kramer Architects

Kramer Architects More than 30 years listening to our clients, creating livable solutions, remaining sympathetic to the fabric and architectural style of every community.

Kramer Architects has over 25 years of service to Washington, DC, Maryland and Virginia communities — preserving neighborhood aesthetics, rehabbing existing homes, and working with families to alter and improve their living environments. Mark Kramer and the Kramer Architects creative team have an expert sense for how to best adapt a family’s home to new lifestyles — from young couples, to large fa

milies, empty nesters, retirees, and everyone in-between. Mark Kramer started Kramer Architects in 1983 by helping area homeowners develop unique, innovative and creative solutions allowing residents to stay in the homes they love. Kramer Architects always strives to envision homes that are sympathetic to the design, aesthetic, and character of the surrounding community. The firm’s designs aspire to enhance original structures with new construction that blends with its original style. Mark Kramer is licensed in the state of Maryland, the state of Virginia, and the District of Columbia since 1983. Additionally, Mark Kramer is a noted sculptor who has designed many pieces for public art and private collections. As a sculptor, he specializes in the use of welded steel and bronze to create his designs. A significant piece, "Lyrical Lady," a 25ft. steel sculpture, serves as a gateway into downtown Bethesda, Maryland. For additional information, visit MarkKramerSculpture.com or the Mark Kramer Sculpture page. Kramer is also actively involved on Board of Directors for several community based organizations, currently including Bethesda Urban Partnership, Bethesda Arts and Entertainment District, and the Park and Planning Commission Art Review Panel. He has also been a member of AIA, Potomac Valley, since 1981.

Nearly three decades ago, we were honored to design this home for the late writer Tom Clancy. Creating the concept for Mr. Clancy's home was a highlight for Mark's career. The 7-bedroom home on 537 acres overlooking the Chesapeake Bay is now on sale for the first time since it was built.

The late author's 537-acre estate along the Chesapeake Bay in Southern Maryland is on the market for $6.2 million.
