Hello! I’m Mary Brighid Bourke, founder of Walsh Bourke Interiors - and I’d love to tell you a little about me 👋🏻

I design timeless interiors for homeowners in the Washington DC area. My favorite kind of projects are when I get to work with classic architecture and historic houses to create spaces that feel layered, personal, and built to last.

When I’m not designing or meeting with clients, you can find me going for walks with our Irish Doodle, Camden, spending time with family in Annapolis and Pennsylvania, strolling my favorite DC neighborhoods to gather inspiration, or traveling to charming destinations like Saint Michaels or Charleston.

Around here you’ll see a mix of design projects, historic homes, and a few glimpses of the life behind the business!

When our newly married clients purchased this 90s Colonial, it had great bones but felt dated and disconnected from the design style they loved. They knew they needed help to bring their vision to life, so they brought us in to

✔️remodel the powder room
✔️update the trim throughout the first floor
✔️ refinish the hardwood floors
✔️and give the bedroom a could refresh.

The powder room transformation alone tells the story. What was once dark and cramped is now layered with board and batten millwork, soft blue paint, leafy wallpaper, and timeless marble mosaic tile.

Turning a classic Colonial into a home that feels tailored and enduring starts with understanding not just the architecture of the home, but also the history of the people who live there. Thoughtful details and classic materials make all the difference ✨
