What began as a home needing just a few thoughtful updates became a space that quietly transformed everything about how it feels. From the start, we leaned into a mountain modern direction—warm woods, layered textures, natural materials, and a palette grounded in the landscape outside.

That intention carried into the smallest spaces, where personality often shows up most. This powder room came to life through contrast—rich walnut cabinetry, warm brass, dramatic texture, and a statement mirror. The Katie Kime toile wallpaper adds a playful lodge-inspired layer, making the room feel collected rather than expected!

Happy Monday! We are excited for opened windows, softened light, and rooms that finally get to breathe again. 🪻💐🌼

This Maryland home became a favorite project—layered with warmth, comfort, and a sense of quiet luxury that carries from room to room. Custom window treatments helped shape the flow of the home, softening each space while framing the views along the way.

We hope everyone had a beautiful Mother’s Day yesterday—filled with the same comfort, warmth, and calm that makes a house feel like home.

On Earth Day, we’re reminded that beautiful spaces don’t have to come at the expense of the world around us. At Waterlily, we’re always considering the layers—natural materials, timeless selections, and pieces meant to last well beyond a trend cycle.
Good design is intentional. It’s choosing quality over excess, embracing what’s already there, and creating homes that feel as enduring as they are beautiful.
Here’s to spaces that breathe, evolve, and respect the ground they stand on. Happy Earth Day 🌎 AND 😉🐕

This space in our project is a quiet composition of contrast. Crisp white paneling and sun-washed light meet a deep, saturated blue—creating a moment that feels both tailored and relaxed. Layers of linen, soft pattern, and subtle texture bring warmth without disrupting the calm. As the light lingers a little longer and spring finally settles in, the room feels even softer… more open, more at ease. Nothing competing. Everything considered. A room designed to slow the pace. 🤍🌊🩵🪿🦋

We’re honored to see this project featured in Northern Virginia Magazine, April 2026 issue! 🤍✨ The floor that changed everything! What started as a dated, builder-grade bathroom became something entirely custom the moment we reimagined the foundation of the space. We designed a fully custom mosaic floor using crisp white and slate-blue marble—then took it a step further with Italian golden glass woven throughout the pattern. The result is a floor that doesn’t just ground the room… it leads it. Every detail was intentionally pulled from it—warm gold hardware, brass lighting, and polished marble surfaces—all echoing the tones and movement underfoot. And while the freestanding tub, triple shower, and layered finishes bring the luxury, it’s the floor that quietly steals the show.
Proof that sometimes the most impactful design decision is the one beneath your feet!

We did the “how we see each other” trend & let’s just say sisters… they’re all the therapy we need and sometimes the reason we need therapy 😉 …and still our favorite person to call after it. 🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻 Comment below and let us know who you are going to do this trend with!

Some fixtures are worth the wait. ✨

Over a year ago at High Point Market we spotted this breathtaking chandelier from Currey & Company and immediately asked ourselves, “Where can we put this stunning fixture?” Well…the wait is over.

This dramatic 54” diameter chandelier finally found its home above a custom 8’ dining table from Century Furniture—and yes, the front door had to come off just to get it into the house. Worth it? Absolutely.

The dining room is wrapped in Anna French’s “Tree House” in Eggplant from the Nara collection by Thibaut, creating a rich backdrop for gatherings around the table.

One of our favorite details in this home? The client’s love of mantels. Each fireplace features something completely different—most sourced from antique shops. There are six on the main floor alone, each with its own personality!

This polished family room sets the tone for a home reimagined — layering cherished antiques (their beloved chairs) with fresh, refined finishes for a look that feels transitional, tailored, and livable. A vibrant sofa by Century Furniture anchors the space, while a sculptural lamp from Visual Comfort & Co. and playful pillows by Schumacher bring personality and polish. The result? A once heavy, dark interior transformed into a light-filled, balanced retreat designed for gathering by the fire. Which detail would you cozy up to first? 🔥🐆💖

This master bath went under a full transformation, not just a facelift! We reimagined a once dated, builder-grade bathroom with a crisp palette of white and slate-blue marble, layered with warm gold accents throughout. The true showstopper? A custom-designed and custom cut marble mosaic floor with Italian golden glass details! Every element was thoughtfully curated—from the flooring to the fixtures—finished with a freestanding tub, triple showerheads, and polished marble surfaces. What detail are your eyes going to first? Schumacher’s Birds & Butterflies wallpaper steals the show in this butler’s pantry—wrapping the walls and ceiling in an unexpected burst of whimsy. 🦋 Inspired by our client’s love of colorful prints and cherished antiques, we transformed a once-heavy traditional home into a lighter, layered, and livable space. By refining the palette, rebalancing rich mahogany floors, and reimagining the lighting plan, we created a backdrop that allows moments like this pantry to truly sing.

This is one of those spaces that makes you smile every time you walk in—proof that functional rooms deserve just as much personality as the rest of the home! Are you team bold wallpaper in small spaces—or do you prefer it in larger rooms? Let us know in the comments! ⬇️
