Needles 🪡

If your stitches look messy…
check your needle first 👇

Not your machine.
Not your skill.

Your needle.

Different fabrics NEED different needles:
👉 knits = ballpoint
👉 denim = jeans needle
👉 delicate = sharp

Get this right and everything improves.

Needle Size Basics
• 60–70 (9–10) → very light fabrics
• 75–80 (11–12) → light–medium fabrics
• 90 (14) → medium fabrics
• 100–110 (16–18) → heavy fabrics

👉 Bigger number = thicker needle

Pro Tips
• Always match needle to fabric first, then thread
• Change your needle every project or 6–8 hours of sewing
• Skipped stitches? → wrong needle type
• Thread breaking? → wrong size or damaged needle
• For knits → never use universal if skipping happens, switch to stretch/ballpoint
• Test on scrap before sewing your project

Right needle = clean stitches, no damage, professional finish 🧵✨

Be honest 👇
When was the last time you changed your needle?

Balance is Key to everything…

Balance is Key to everything…

your sewing machine is set from the factory to make balanced stitches

if the top thread and bottom thread are the same type and same thickness
you usually don’t touch anything
it just works

but real life ain’t that clean lol

maybe you use cotton on top
poly under
or metallic
or one thick and one thin

now they don’t match
so the stitch starts acting weird

here’s the easy way to picture it

top thread vs bottom thread
tug of war

if both are equal
nobody wins
stitches look perfect

if one is stronger
it pulls too much
then you see loops or thread showing
messy af

so you fix it with tension

tighten = top thread pulls harder
loosen = top thread relaxes

just test on scrap fabric
adjust a little
sew again
repeat

don’t stress it

it’s not some big science thing
it’s just two tiny strings learning how to behave together lol

Creative sewing is good therapy for a busy season 🪡🧵

Creative sewing is good therapy for a busy season 🪡🧵

During December, comfort doesn’t always come from candles or blankets — sometimes it comes from the familiar weight of fabric in your hands, or the quiet rhythm of stitching.

When the world feels busy or overwhelming, creativity offers a gentle refuge. Something steady. Something that doesn’t demand perfection. Something that reminds you that you’re allowed to rest inside your own process.

Your hands know what your heart needs long before your mind catches up. And in that simple movement of needle and thread, comfort begins to unfold — slowly, quietly, beautifully.

🧵 Stitcher’s Self-Care Checklist

Because creativity feels better when your body does, too.

If you’re a regular stitcher, knitter, or crafter, you know how easy it is to lose track of time - and end up with stiff shoulders, dry eyes, or sore wrists.

Here’s your gentle self-care reminder before your next stitching session:
✅ Stretch your hands and wrists
✅ Use the 20-20-20 rule to rest your eyes
✅ Sit with support and good posture
✅ Drink some water (not just coffee 😉)
✅ Take a deep breath before threading that needle
✅ Most importantly: Listen to your body.

Crafting should bring peace, not discomfort. These tiny habits help you stitch longer, with more joy and ease.

Let’s keep each other accountable - drop a 💧, 🙆‍♀️, or 👁 if you’re remembering your self-care today!
