Zach Cook is a third-generation farmer who started out with a 100-acre farm early in his career and has since transformed his small farm operation into a thriving and diverse 1,500-acre operation. He has done this by betting on himself to be successful, and by always having a conservation mindset. This farm now grows a diverse rotation of cash crops including corn, dry beans, soybeans, small grains and beef cattle. Use of cover crops, no-till, and integrating livestock have been big contributors to improving his soil health. He also implements the 4R’s of nutrient stewardship, ensuring environmentally responsible application.
