Redstone Architects is walking for the Red.

Walk for the Red is a run/walk event held in Macomb County, MI and is dedicated to raising money for our local firefighting heroes battling cancer.

As public safety designers, we are thrilled to take part in this opportunity, in addition to our work, to help our local community of firefighters. During these past 30+ years, we have designed and planned for many fire stations across the country and in Michigan, including Macomb County. We are proud to serve our communities, even long after the project or study is completed.

Please join us Sunday, June 14th to give our first responders a helping hand against cancer by visiting this link to register and/or donate. We hope to see you there!

This week is National Police Week.

Thank you to our law enforcement personnel for everything you do to keep us safe!

As law enforcement and public safety consultants, we design police stations and public safety buildings with security, safety, and ease of use in mind. Our firm principal aptly summarizes our key design objectives for every police and public safety department.

“Security is really the paramount design focus. Everything else is secondary to security for the officers and civilian support staff within a law enforcement building.” – Daniel Redstone

We are honored to provide informed design guidance to police departments and their local architects across the nation.

If your law enforcement department could use our experience, visit our website https://www.redstonearchitects.com/ and contact us. We’d be happy to serve you.

The architect must be a positive force in creating surroundings that enhance and fulfill all human needs, in which the arts become an integral part of man's daily environment."

~ Louis G. Redstone

A little over a hundred years ago, Louis G. Redstone, FAIA, then a young man from Grodno, Russia dared to dream for a career in architecture and moved to Detroit, MI to study at the University of Michigan. This pivotal decision set the groundwork for a nearly 90-year-old legacy, which lives on in his son and our firm principal, Daniel Redstone, FAIA.

For a peek into our firm’s journey from its first moments to its last buildings under Louis G. Redstone’s leadership, watch our video below on our firm’s history.

Thank you NBS Commercial Interiors for inviting us to the NBS Design Forward 2026 conference series!

Our project designers, David Gale and Natalie Wilson, had the honor of participating in these immersive learning experiences from January to March.

These conferences connect emerging designers and the interior design industry to the latest training, education, and products.

A sincere thank you to the combined team from NBS Commercial Interiors, Steelcase, Designtex, and AMQ for hosting such a well-curated series and for bringing together professionals who are passionate about creating impactful, resilient spaces. We appreciate the chance to share our perspective and to learn alongside so many industry peers.

We look forward to continuing the dialogue on interior design’s role in public safety architecture.

Designing for the next 20+ years of public safety is not easy. It takes vision, strategy, and the right partners.

We were honored to have collaborated with ADG Blatt and Ponca City, OK, on a comprehensive Police Facility Needs Assessment and Feasibility Study. Our team conducted a deep dive – analyzing current operations, projecting future staffing, evaluating the requirements for what would become a 61,200 SF facility (includes police department, jail, and court), and how to best utilize it for the city’s police department.

Ready to experience an exciting and successful design route for your project?

We had a great time attending Well Lit. Well Read. Well Designed. on March 19.

Thank you to Interior Environments for providing the venue for the event and to Clarus Lighting for hosting such a thoughtful event. We gained so many insights on lighting design and innovation. It was great connecting with colleagues and lighting companies across the globe.

Looking forward to continuing the conversation on lighting’s role in creating quality spaces.

Special thanks to Joseph Metzger from Secto Design and Nigel Anderson from Interior Environments for taking our group pictures.
