We’ve just posted a new blog to our website exploring the heart of historic preservation through our work on the Snead State Administration Building. Getting hands dirty—literally—helped us uncover layers of history, craft, and care built into this 100-year-old landmark. From hand-laid bricks to plaster reinforced with horsehair, every detail adds to its story. This slow, patient process teaches us that preservation starts with understanding the building’s unique character and challenges, allowing us to honor its past while giving it a strong future.

Established churches face unique challenges as their campuses grow and change over time. Many develop gradually, within existing buildings and tight sites, all while honoring deeply rooted traditions. Then we balance history with today’s needs to extend its life and keep its character strong for years ahead.

We were honored to once again serve as judges for AIA’s Dream Architecture Art competition, where kindergarten designers brought their visions of a dream hotel to life. Each submission—vibrant, inventive, and full of thoughtful detail—reflected the boundless curiosity and creative energy that architecture can inspire at any age. We’re grateful to these young students for reminding us that the most compelling ideas begin with imagination.
