I had a customer come in requesting odd miscut and discarded keys.
As I scrounged thru the 5 gallon bucket of brass we have I asked him what type of project he uses them for. He explained how he makes license plate decor and attaches the keys to a board.
I couldn’t really “see” what he was talking about, until he brought this in today.
All made from assorted license plates to spell whatever someone wants.

A customer’s safe’s hinge pin broke and a competitor of ours removed the parts to look for a new one. After a year, the parts ended up lost. I had some mill and lathe time this last weekend and made fresh hinge pins and blocks.
