This Black Mountain home had good bones. It just needed someone willing to honor them. Thirty-year-old kitchen, outdated master bath, worn floors, and an exterior that didn't reflect what was possible inside.

We touched nearly every room — custom Smithport cabinetry in Rookwood Sash Green, Monterey quartz countertops, a full Café appliance suite with brushed copper hardware. A master bath rebuilt from the floor up: heated herringbone tile, a freestanding black soaking tub, white subway tile, matte black fixtures throughout. New hardwood floors carried through the main living areas, with an Olive Green porcelain hearth framing the original stone fireplace that was always the heart of this home. LP SmartSide siding and Tricorn Black paint on the exterior — same house, completely different arrival.

One thing this project reminded us: when a home is renovated with intention and real craftsmanship, the photos don't need much help. The work speaks.

Thinking about a project like this? Send us a message — we'd love to hear about your home.

Ben sat down with a structural engineer to figure out how to fix serious mistakes left behind by an unlicensed contractor.

This is the part most people never see—the hidden problems behind walls: bad framing, code violations, and improper waterproofing that can lead to major structural issues over time. Hiring the wrong person doesn’t just cost more… it often means tearing everything back out and rebuilding it the right way.

If you're planning a project, make sure your contractor is qualified before the first cut is made. Link in the comments for why choosing a licensed GC is so important.

Most people think we’re in the remodeling business. It's more than that. We’re in the relationship business…remodeling just happens to be how it starts. Because “we’re always here for you” doesn’t end when the job wraps up. It shows up in the phone calls after. The check-ins months later. The conversations that have nothing to do with countertops or tile.

We’ve stood beside our clients through big wins, tough seasons, and everything in between.

That’s what we mean when we say it’s about the relationship. If you’ve ever worked with us, you know. If you've worked with us in the past, drop a memory or moment that stuck with you.

If your fireplace looks like the “before”…
there’s a good chance the real problem is behind the wall.
This one had water intrusion + outdated components.

What you don’t see in these photos:
✔️ New fireplace system tied into the existing flue
✔️ Chimney cap added to stop long-term damage
✔️ Custom-built hearth + mantel designed to actually fit the space

Most people think a fireplace upgrade is cosmetic. It’s not.
It’s structure. Safety. Longevity.
And when it’s done right… it becomes the centerpiece of the entire home.

Choosing the cheapest contractor often backfires because that low number usually isn’t the same project—it’s a version with missing scope, low allowances, and unaccounted risks. What looks like savings upfront turns into “that’s not included” later when real conditions show up or selections are made, especially in remodeling where unknowns are common. In the end, a cheap bid doesn’t mean a cheaper project—it just means you’ll pay the real cost later, with more stress and less control.

Most contractors would have looked at this basement corner and thrown up some wire racks. We didn't do that.

The homeowners had been collecting wine for years — good wine — with nowhere to actually keep it. So we gutted the space down to concrete and asked ourselves what it would take to do this right.

The answer was a hand-fabricated barrel ceiling — nine custom ribs built from scratch by our in-house crew, not ordered from a catalog. Double-layer foam insulation on every wall. A climate system engineered specifically for long-term wine storage. Custom cabinetry, a tile backsplash, decorative lighting tucked inside the ceiling arches, and a Level IV drywall finish on every surface — the highest standard in residential construction.

Halfway through the ceiling build, we had to redesign the entire arc because the original geometry would have exposed the plumbing. No hiding it, no faking it. We changed the design and kept going.

The homeowners weren't even local. They handed us the keys and trusted us completely. That's not something you can fake — either you have that standard or you don't.

Final inspection passe. A forgotten basement corner is now a custom wine room this family will use for the rest of their lives.

If you have a space in your home that isn't working for how you actually live, let's talk. We'd love to have an honest conversation about what's possible.

Your preconstruction meeting is the final step before construction begins. It’s designed to ensure everything is clear, organized, and ready to go.

During this meeting, we will:

- Introduce your Project Manager, your main point of contact moving forward
- Review the full scope of work to confirm everything aligns with your expectations
- Set communication expectations and weekly update cadence
- Walk through project logistics and what to expect during construction
- Finalize any remaining selections to keep the project on schedule

This meeting allows us to eliminate uncertainty, align expectations, and ensure your project starts smoothly and confidently. We look forward to walking through everything with you and getting your project underway.
