the team spent tuesday morning organizing and refreshing racks at the montgomery county emergency assistance program clothing bank!

based at old town hall in blacksburg, the clothing bank is open for shopping thursday mornings from 8am-12:30pm.

On Monday, the Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce announced it was teaming up with Feeding Southwest Virginia for a food drive to support those in need in the New River Valley.

we spent a great afternoon helping prep for their y-toss sale taking place august 19-21 💚 many rugs were cleaned, but there’s always more work to be done!

if you want to join the y-toss efforts, they’re looking for volunteers to prep and run the sale

our two 5th year architecture interns—manuela and hanna—showing off their thesis progress 🥲💚

manuela: “my thesis is about exploring community and relationships within high-density, super-tight urban spaces while maintaining high quality-of-life. my work was initially inspired by kowloon walled city”

hanna: “located in metro manila, philippines, the site contains a home designed to accommodate a family of three generations. the home explores how space can be used to foster both openness and closedness between generations and how the encouragement of these multigenerational relationships may act to nurture the human spirit.”

christmas came early at colley architects 🎄

the works tirelessly year-round to provide christmas with dignity to folks across the new river valley. financially supported entirely by local donors, the mccs has relied solely on volunteers during their 40+ years serving the community. last week the colley team helped build donated shelving units that will store part of their massive toy supply!
