Have you pruned your fruit trees yet? You're not too late; call Chris (952-884-8482 ) for pruning--"Fruit trees such as apples, crabapples, mountain ash, and hawthorns should be pruned in February through early April. This reduces the chance of the bacterial disease fire blight and infection from occurring. Pruning in fall or early winter may cause drying out and die-back at the pruning sites". U of MN. Extension. Working on a healthier diet? (After 'Quarantine 15 #'!) Think about growing your own salad bowl. "As a general guide, spinach, kale, and mustard greens can be sown six weeks before the last frost, followed by lettuce and chard three weeks later. You can choose to transplant seedlings or sow seeds directly into the garden. Transplants can be started earlier to get a jump on the season." National Garden Bureau.
