Fun little story here: Last week I had a potential customer who tried pitting me against another fence company in a bidding war, but I told them to “thats a great price, and they’re a good company-I’d go with them for that price” later that day I was notified a job was being cancelled. I didn’t have the flexibility in the schedule to move things around and needed to come up with something for the crew. Just then I got a call from the owner of the same company-He asked if we could help him out to stay on schedule for a customer who was becoming impatient. Normally we don’t sub contract from other fence companies but the timing was just right and I like these people so I asked what the terms were and he said “name your price” which I did, and he replied “done!”So off the crew went to help our friends out with the instructions to do their best work. Its nice to know even our biggest competitors, and friends know we will take care of business for them on a simple handshake. 🫡
