Guess what?! It’s my final week of running Read & Rooted alone! 🥹🌿📚
Typing that honestly feels a little emotional because for almost 2 1/2 years this shop has been me and Jesse figuring things out as we go… working late nights, early mornings, hauling plants, unpacking books, planning events, answering messages at midnight, and somehow keeping all the moving pieces together at once.
And now… we’re at a point where we have employees. Truly wild.
We officially have two amazing employees starting over the next few weeks, and while June is definitely going to be a little chaotic between training, prior commitments, and summer school transportation schedules, I’m just incredibly thankful to even be in this position. Thank you in advance for your patience and grace while we navigate this new season together! ✨
Since moving into the shop, we’ve experienced more growth than I ever could have imagined, and honestly it all feels really humbling. There were so many moments over the last year where I questioned if I could keep up, if we could continue growing, or if people would keep showing up for this little dream built around books, plants, and community. But you all did. Over and over again.
I think one of the craziest parts of all of this is realizing how many people believed in something that started as just an idea in my head. So many of you have supported, encouraged, shared, shopped, attended events, and rooted for this business in ways I’ll never fully be able to put into words. Watching something I created become a space that means something to other people too is such a surreal feeling. 💕
Every event ticket, every book purchase, every plant, every shared post, every person who has walked through our doors and told a friend about us… it all helped get us here.
And don’t worry… you’ll absolutely still be seeing Sarah and Lindsey’s beautiful faces constantly. We are never getting rid of them 😅 They have been the absolute best support system and friends through all of this, and Read & Rooted truly would not be what it is without them!
I’m just really, really grateful. Grateful for this community, grateful for this shop, and grateful that we’ve reached a point where I don’t have to do it all alone anymore. Seeing all of that hard work finally grow into something sustainable and bigger than just us feels incredibly emotional and rewarding!
Love you all so freaking much 🫶🏼
