Q1: What is sealcoating?

Sealcoating is a protective layer applied to asphalt that helps protect it from sun, water, oil, and gas while extending the life of your driveway.

Q2: How often should I sealcoat?

Most driveways should be sealcoated every 2–3 years to keep the asphalt protected and looking fresh.

Q3: Will sealcoating fix cracks?

Sealcoating protects asphalt but doesn’t fill large cracks. Cracks should be repaired with hot rubber crack filler before sealing.

Q4: How does it prevent damage?

Sealcoating blocks UV rays, moisture, and chemicals, helping prevent cracks and surface breakdown.

Q5: Is it safe?

Yes. Once cured, sealcoating is safe for families, pets, and vehicles.

Q6: Does it protect against oil and gas?

Yes. Sealcoating seals the pores in asphalt so oil and gas can’t easily soak in and damage it.

Q7: Will it improve the look?

Absolutely. Sealcoating restores the rich black finish and improves curb appeal.

Q8: When can I drive on it?
Typically 24–48 hours after application.

Q9: What should I do before sealing?
Just remove vehicles and items from the driveway. We handle the rest.

Q10: How do I get started?
Contact us for a free estimate and we’ll get your driveway protected.

🛑 Don’t Let Your Asphalt Fall Apart!

Seal coating isn’t just a cosmetic touch-up — it’s essential protection for your driveway or parking lot.

At Akers Paving & Sealing, we help you:
✔️ Prevent cracks and potholes
✔️ Shield against oil, sun, and rain
✔️ Extend the life of your pavement
✔️ Boost curb appeal with a clean black finish

• Seal coating every 2–3 years can cut repair and replacement costs by up to 50% over the life of the pavement.

• Seal coating keeps the asphalt flexible and less prone to cracking.

•Properly maintained asphalt can last twice as long as untreated surfaces.

•Resists Oil and Chemicals: Acts as a barrier against gas, oil, and other automotive fluids that can break down the pavement.

💧 Water-Based Seal Coat
• Eco-friendly – Less harmful to the environment.
• Quick drying – Typically ready for traffic within 24–48 hours.
• Lower odor – More comfortable to apply around homes or businesses.
• Good appearance – Dries to a smooth, jet-black finish.

🛢️ Oil-Based Seal Coat
• Longer-lasting – Offers deeper pe*******on into asphalt and longer protection (3–5 years).
• More durable – Better resistance to water, salt, and harsh weather.
• Rich color – Often leaves a deeper black tone after curing.

At Akers Paving & Sealing, we’ll help you choose the right one based on your needs..
