Tuesday Tech Tip: AI Is Making Scams More Convincing
Scammers are using AI to write more believable and realistic emails and texts—and even mimic voices. That means phishing attempts can look (and sound) a lot more like real messages from a coworker, vendor, client or government officials.
Watch for:
⚠Urgent requests involving money, gift cards, wire transfers, or sensitive info
⚠Messages that feel “off,” even if the name looks familiar
⚠Requests to skip your normal process (“don’t tell anyone,” “I need this done now”)
Protect your business by:
-Verifying requests using a second method (call a known number, start a new email thread, etc.)
-Making sure your team knows these AI-driven scams are out there
-Setting clear approval steps for financial transactions and account changes
