ELITE SPORTS PERFORMANCE

PROJECT OVERVIEW
In 2019, we completed Elite Sports Performance — paired with the
adjacent Elite Rejuvenation wellness spa to create real synergy
between performance and recovery in a single connected facility.
The gym reads as a long, open group-session floor finished in cobalt-blue
performance carpet, with individual Rogue weight-training stations, mirrored
walls, and a deep-purple feature wall behind the digital training clock.
Sports-bar ceiling-hung TVs and oversized rotating fans give the room its
athletic, masculine character.
“Unleash Your Inner Athlete” is set in large distressed blue type across the
back wall — the gym's tagline made architectural. The same industrial pipe
pendants and black-and-white portraits then carry into the adjacent spa
hallway, making the two programs read as one brand.
$1M. 6500 SF. Completed 2019.

A Florida color-focused clubhouse renovation with tropical
wallcovering, sea-glass accents, coral and aqua textiles, soft gold
lighting, natural wood, and resort-style comfort.

The lobby becomes the clubhouse’s strongest arrival moment, using palm mural panels, coral and aqua seating, soft gold lighting, and lighter architectural finishes to create a bright Florida resort welcome.

The completed design direction creates a brighter, more colorful
clubhouse environment: relaxed enough for everyday resident life,
polished enough for community events, and durable enough for daily senior-living use.

For over twenty-five years, Cynthia Spray has shaped the built environments of South Florida with a rare combination of licensed architectural expertise, construction authority, and an unwavering commitment to design excellence. Her career began in Miami in 2000 at the internationally renowned firm Arquitectonica — a formative chapter that instilled in her the discipline, design rigor, and professional standards that would define everything to follow. As the founder and principal of Cynthia Spray Design & Architecture and Cynthia Spray Construction, Inc. (est. 2024) she has led more than thirty interior build projects from concept through completion since establishing her own practice in 2011 — each one a testament to the belief that design is not merely what a space looks like, but how it lives, functions, and endures.

That dedication to craft was recognized in 2022 when she received the Interiors Design Award from the American Institute of Architects — a distinction that affirms both the artistry and the technical excellence her practice consistently delivers.

Beyond community design, her commercial portfolio reads like a cross-section of South Florida life. She has redesigned barber shops in Davie with a fresh urban energy, reimagined wealth management offices in West Palm Beach with quiet authority, converted law offices into richly appointed Italian-inspired interiors, and guided corporate relocations — including the Deluxe Checks expansion from Minnesota — through every phase of planning, permitting, and build-out. Retail, hospitality, medical, self-storage, and multi-tenant shopping center spaces all carry her signature attention to proportion, material, and detail.

At the residential scale, her work reflects equal fluency — from waterfront condominiums and Intracoastal ranch estates to oceanfront luxury properties in Gulfstream and Addison-on-the-Ocean addresses that speak to Palm Beach's most discerning clientele.

A new bar concept for the upstairs Banquet Room, designed to
mimic the existing Commodore Bar downstairs — preserving the
historic character of the clubhouse while opening the bar to the
long sight-lines of the room and the marina beyond.

Mimic the existing Commodore Bar downstairs so no foreign design elements would
enter the historic clubhouse. Provide an attractive, elegant bar that makes visual
sense in the long sight-lines of the Banquet Room while preserving views to the
marina.

Mirrored back wall with adjustable 3/4" tempered glass shelves · Stained wood or

SCOPE & STATUS
Engaged December 2016; conceptual design refined April – May 2017 for equipment
plan, finishes, budget, and plumbing & electrical systems. Cynthia Spray Design and
Architecture went on to produce full construction documents for permit covering
architecture and MEP (mechanical, electrical, and plumbing) engineering,
completing the documentation required to bid and build the Banquet Room Bar.

Sited on an exquisite oceanfront parcel stretching from A1A to the Atlantic — 150 feet of direct ocean frontage by 450 feet deep — the property offered remarkable real estate
but a house that no longer matched its setting. The original 2001 Mediterranean residence was well-built but ill-proportioned, with builder-grade windows and a great deal of applied ornament working against the architecture.

The owners approached the studio in 2019 with a focused brief: extend the masterbedroom terrace toward the ocean to create a true outdoor living program. The scope grew into a full renovation of the residence — a new arcaded loggia and summer kitchen,
an infilled two-story living room, a complete window replacement, and re-coordinated elevations across every face of the building.

The defining design move was the loggia colonnade itself. Existing terraces stepped gently down the site toward the ocean, which made the new structure tall and awkward to resolve. Elegantly tapered columns paired with arches absorbed the height, gave the
elevation true proportion, and framed an outdoor summer kitchen, living room with fireplace, and dining area open to the Atlantic.

This 35,000-square-foot interior improvement project refreshed the common areas of a Florida residential condominium community. The East Tower fronts the Atlantic Ocean, while the West Tower faces the Intracoastal Waterway.
The main lobby was refreshed with a polished reception counter, warm
woven pendant lighting, navy seating, sculptural accessories, and a
restrained coastal palette that feels residential, gracious, and durable for
daily condominium use.
