Why Winter Is the Best Time to Trim Trees

Pruning during dormancy minimizes stress, reduces disease risk, and allows for better structural cuts. It also helps prevent limb failure during winter storms and high winds. Proper winter trimming sets trees up for safer, stronger growth in spring.

All good things. Not to mention pragmatic financially. Call any tree service, doesn’t need to be yours truly. It’s highly likely your estimate will look a lot different than it would any other time of year. Now’s the time of year when the world slows down. People go inside and forget all about each other, what lies outside the warmth, what a tree looks like… until the world tilts ever so slightly and we call it spring.

Schedule winter pruning before the next wind event.
