đ§° Role Overview:
The maintenance of plumbing infrastructure within the South Idaho Correctional Institution (SICI), ensuring compliance with state regulations, institutional safety standards, and operational efficiency. This role supports IDOCâs mission by maintaining critical systems that serve over 700 residents and staff.
đ§ Key Responsibilities:
- Project Oversight & Coordination
- Supervise installation, repair, and upgrades of plumbing systems across the facility.
- Coordinate with contractors, IDOC maintenance teams, and correctional staff to ensure timely project delivery.
- Review blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications for plumbing layouts.
- Compliance & Safety
- Ensure all plumbing work adheres to Idaho building codes, environmental regulations, and institutional safety protocols.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify risks or non-compliance.
- Maintain documentation for inspections, permits, and corrective actions.
- Maintenance & Emergency Response
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules for water supply, drainage, and sanitation systems.
- Respond to plumbing emergencies (e.g., leaks, clogs, equipment failures) with minimal disruption to facility operations.
- Manage inventory of plumbing tools, parts, and safety equipment.
- Team Leadership & Training
- Supervise and train vocational crews, including incarcerated workers assigned to plumbing-related tasks.
- Promote skill development and safety awareness among team members.
- Liaise with Correctional Industries and vocational programs to align plumbing work with rehabilitation goals.
- Reporting & Communication
- Provide regular updates to IDOC Facilities Management and SICI administration.
- Collaborate with other site managers (electrical, HVAC, structural) for integrated facility operations.
- Prepare reports on system performance, incidents, and budget.
