B&B Lester Portable Buildings in Bolivar is located at: 5190 South Scenic Avenue on the south side of town parallel to the Kansas Expressway between Boone’s BBQ Restaurant and the Red Cedar Motel/RV Park.

There has been some questions asked by our customers about how we differ from the other portable building guys here in town. We know that Stor-Mor Portable Buildings is a National Company featuring that Industry-Leading 5/50 warranty - which really means that Stor-Mor is so sure of their product that they CAN give the best warranty!

However, Greg, the sales associate at Bolivar, did some checking this weekend and found out some really interesting differences on an 8x10 Metal Utility building of a leading competitor and Stor-Mor . . . .

Stor-Mor runs the metal horizontal to the ground. The competitor runs it vertical.
- - - - what does that mean?
- - - - - - - The competition uses *** Furring Strips *** made with 2x4 boards nailed onto the studs. Those strips are 1.5” thick which means that the inside square footage of an 8x10 building is not 80 square feet but actually - 65.69 sq feet. Stor-Mor screws their 29 gauge steel onto the studs without the strips and that gives you 69.84 sq feet of storage space. FOUR (4) more square feet of space per building!!
- - - - - - - Stor-Mor and this competitor use a double top plate.
- - - - - - - - The competitor uses a double stacked 2x4 where Stor-Mor uses a 2x4 and then tops it with a 2x8 and drives the nails through the trusses into that 2x8 for additional strength. Then they drive a HURRICANE screw through both boards into the end of every truss giving their buildings a wind load rating of 160mph
- - - - - - - - - - - - - there were no hurricane screws found in the competitor’s buildings - so what IS the wind load rating????

Stor-Mor tops the trusses with premium 5/8” OSB and then 29 gauge MetalMax Steel roofing. The competitor uses 1/2” OSB

These are all simple things - but - it is the SIMPLE things that turn an ordinary item into a WELL CRAFTED item. Stor-Mor buildings are indeed - well crafted.
