Looks like some of us are going to drop below freezing tonight. If you have newly sprouted grass, water it this evening so it freezes wet. This will insulate the roots and protect the plant. Also bring in any houseplants and cover any susceptible outdoor plants.

Once your new grass is tall enough to be mowed... DO IT! Cutting young grass plants will push root growth and allow them to get plenty of air and sunlight. Don't worry, the footprints and tire tracks will go away. A few quick tips:
-Let the grass dry before mowing.
-Tire tracks won't hurt the grass but be careful when making turns.
-Don't cut off more than 1/3rd of the total height in a single mow.
