This is a notification to my piano technician friends. I've begun work on a compilation of the "Small Shop, Big Result" series from the Piano Technician Journal, working from the original drafts which I sent to the editors. The series is now in its 86th monthly installment, making the project somewhat daunting, in I'm reformatting everything, one page at a time. The final product will run somewhere between 400 and 500 pages, and will contain nearly 1000 photographs.
The plan is to have my local printer do two versions, one double sided on ordinary computer paper, and the other single sided on card stock weight paper. Both versions would be put into 3-hole binders to make it easy to take out individual sections for use in the shop.
The reason for my doing this was two-fold. First of all, I think my 3 kids and 6 grandkids might have fun having their own copy. Secondly, I've been approached by a number of technicians the last few years who have wondered if this is something I might be willing to put together.
As long as I don't have to rush to get it done, I think it will be fun to do, and fun to have once completed.
I would invite any comments and suggestions. Also, if you would like to be put on a notification list, drop me a note and I'll keep you abreast of the progress, and let you know when copies are available and what the cost will be.
