Hi! We need your help and support in building a community space, teen space and playground for hundreds of children at Senda 2 on our border in Reynosa, Mexico. The border city of Reynosa now hosts asylum seekers from around the world. In the Senda De Vida 2 shelter in Reynosa there are hundreds of children and teens who have limited access to facilities to play, explore and learn in a safe environment.

Your donation will help to design and build the first phase of this initiative. All donation will go directly to Solidarity Engineering (tax-deductible) and be used for the construction of the first shade elements through a collaborative design-build process. You can find more information on our gofundme page. Thank you for your support!

June 20th is World Refugee Day designated by the United Nations to honor refugees around the globe. GDIRC wants to recognize the courage and resilience of the children that have been forced to flee their homes.

Our initiative provides them with some respite in their journey so they can be and do what children do best: PLAY. Our playgrounds also send a message of empathy to let them know that we care very much and a message of hope that there are friends to be found in their journey to safety.

Please check our new website and stay up-to-date with our effort to build play/social spaces for the refugee communities globally: https://www.gdirc.org/

Founded in 2016, we are a group of architects, landscape architects, designers, and builders who advocate for play and design communal spaces for refugee families and children globally.
