Jade Apartments and Juniper Apartments are neighboring residences that stand alone, but share a unified vision: A playful contrast between the raw and the refined.

Jade celebrates an intentional juxtaposition between the finished and unfinished, where highly-curated moments unfold against a deliberately unpolished backdrop. Exposed infrastructure is balanced and softened by thoughtful material interventions. Warm oak tambour and sheer drapery is paired with raw concrete.

Juniper takes this a step further, elevating traditionally industrial materials into intentional and bold design features. Corrugated metal, exposed concrete, soft drapery and lush greenery all come together in a surprising harmony.

There’s a lot happening in Deer Valley, and it was fun to get a closer look at it all during The Curated Home.

From conversations about where the luxury home market is headed to seeing the area through the eyes of clients who know it well, I came away with a lot to think about and even more reasons to come back.

Mixed in a few panels, plenty of networking, some late nights, and even a couple rounds of golf.

The best part was the people. Really enjoyed the conversations, the new connections, and catching up with familiar faces. Looking forward to crossing paths again soon!

We find inspiration everywhere, building on one another’s ideas and sharing knowledge to create thoughtful, unexpected design solutions.

Our approach balances creative exploration with uncompromising attention to detail and a practical understanding of the built environment. Working closely with fabricators, craftspeople, and project partners, we bring these ideas to life through every step of the process.

For this space, the team envisioned a distinctive flooring treatment using individually selected and hand-laid marble slabs to create a custom Palladiana terrazzo floor. The expressive stonework grounds the open space, complementing the warmth of the wood acoustic ceiling and the abundance of natural light.

Beautiful, natural, practical, and made to be lived in.

Sometimes, a piece stays with you.

While visiting a pop-up in Paris, Cory was drawn to Alexander Lamont’s Dais Spot Chair and Estribor Drinks Cabinet. Beyond seeing the finished pieces, he watched craftspeople in the showroom demonstrate how they were made, revealing the material knowledge and handwork behind each object.

The impression lasted well beyond the trip. When the right project opportunity arose, Cory brought the Lamont pieces forward as a reference he had kept in mind.

This is often how we work at Planeta. We are continually looking, collecting, and holding onto objects, materials, makers, and ideas. Not always for an immediate application, but for the moment when they belong. Over time, that becomes a kind of material bank: A library of artifacts we have encountered, remembered, and can draw from when the right project calls for them.

Alexander Lamont speaks about creating pieces with their own energy, beauty, and spirit. We are drawn to that same sense of intention, and to the value of discovering something well before we know exactly where it will find its place.
