Our team at Arrowstreet partnered with Run the Gamut to design their first training center, taking the project from concept to opening in just seven months. The 10,000 SF facility is dedicated to supporting autistic young adults as they transition into independent living and employment. Designed as a supportive and immersive environment, the center elevates real-world skill building, fosters a strong sense of community, and empowers every young adult with confidence.
The signage and wayfinding were crafted with an emphasis on clarity and calm visual communication, while maintaining a cohesive connection to the brand and interior design. Functionality, inclusivity, and sensitivity to diverse sensory and cognitive needs informed every design decision. Soft-edged forms and clean, simple typography ensure that all signage remains clear, legible, and welcoming for both students and staff.
Environmental graphics serve as a visually engaging focal points that reinforces Run the Gamut’s mission, blending dynamic color with meaningful, supportive messaging. Three large wall graphics throughout the center highlight inspirational phrases that students can pause and reflect on as they move between classes. One of these, “Why fit in, when you were born to stand out?”—a message deeply embraced by the Run the Gamut team—is prominently displayed outside their offices.
