Visits to active construction sites are crucial for our staff's continuing education and provide opportunities to see how projects by our teams are progressing. A recent visit to the Countryside Elementary School site showed how quickly the project is progressing. The 75,000 SF net-zero energy ready school for 465 students in grades K–5 remains on schedule and will open next winter.

Despite some rain, spirits were not dampened last week during the formal ceremony for the new Fox Hill Elementary School in . Once constructed, the new 91,000 SF school for 325 students in grades K–5 will replace the original Fox Hill that dates back to 1967, and be net-zero energy ready with outdoor learning environments that take advantage of its natural surroundings and new, safer play areas that are adjacent to the building. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q8n58IKPHzU

A little over 10 years ago the new Angier Elementary opened in . The previous Angier had been the oldest school in the city, lacking a cafeteria and in desperate need of being replaced. The new school was creatively fit on the challenging, 1.97 acre site that required building up a portion of land that sloped steeply down to adjacent MBTA tracks. In addition to providing a modern educational environment for 465 students in grades K–5, the 75,000 SF school was certified as LEED Gold.

The new Countryside Elementary in is steadily coming together. Drilling the geothermal wells is essentially complete, and as the weather is now warming up, the windows and doors are in and the interiors are looking more and more like a school, especially the classrooms. The 75,000 SF school for 465 students in grades K–5 is on schedule and will open next winter.

This week was the first public Community Meeting for the Gerena School project in . We are thrilled to once again partner with the City of Springfield to work toward an educational solution for a that is no longer feasible. Community to help inform the public is crucial at this very early stage during which we are exploring all the possible options, including an alternative site that is now available. Over the coming months there will be more of these public meetings, and we look forward to the opportunity to connect with the public.

The new Amethyst Brook Elementary School in is really coming along and looks better with each successive week. The new 105,750 SF net zero energy for 575 K–5 students remains on schedule to be completed in time for the beginning of school in the fall of 2026. When it opens, It will replace the current Fort River and Wildwood Elementary Schools.
