FM has entered the BSA Gingerbread House Competition once again, and this year's theme is "Transit: Boston on the Move." 🚌

Our team had an absolute blast crafting our gingerbread masterpiece titled "The Fabric of Boston." It's a sweet tribute to the vibrant tapestry of our city's transit system and iconic landmarks that make it special.

As the year ends, we reflect on the lessons from Greenbuild 2022, where the theme was to expand our take on what it means to build green.

As signatories of the AIA 2030 Commitment, we have pledged to work towards a carbon neutral future for the built environment. This commitment to cut emissions aligns with the local and state mandates for many of the communities in which we all serve. However, together we look beyond the singular goal of decarbonization, to define a truly sustainable future with a holistic approach – ensuring that the work supports human health, social equity, biodiversity, and a circular economy. This whole-systems thinking will not just minimize the impact of our industry on the natural environment but will result in truly regenerative design.

Our goal for 2023 will be to incorporate these practices into the firm, not only with clients, collaborators, and colleagues but also as individuals. We’re updating our Sustainability Action Plan to reflect these changes so keep an eye out for the new and improved SAP 2.0, coming in early 2023!

The East Boston Senior Center is officially open to the community today!
Based on community input, the center will offer classes for wellness, entertainment, and more for older adults (Boston residents age 60+)

The opening of this center is the result of decades of advocacy from many individuals and we're honored to have helped this vision come true. As Chief of Human Services, José F. Massó said, “This new senior center in East Boston will raise the bar for senior programming in Boston and is a great example of what can happen when the City partners with residents and entities like MassPort to serve a critical neighborhood need."

In early 2020 FM held the first public meeting for the East Boston Senior Center alongside former Mayor and current Secretary of Labor, Marty Walsh.
Today, FM sees the center's official opening with current Mayor Michelle Wu on the one year anniversary of her taking office.

As only the second Senior Center in the city, we're proud of all the work put forward by our team and our partners as we know this project means a lot to East Boston and its older adults. We look forward to seeing it serve the community for many years to come!

This week several FM members are attending the Greenbuild Expo in San Francisco where they have been absorbing all of the latest and best practices from industry-leading experts on resiliency, sustainability, health and wellness in the building industry.

announced $230M in state funding to revitalize nine upstate airports. FM designed concepts for Binghamton and Ogdensburg Airports, two among the winning submissions granted through the Upstate Airport Economic Development and Revitalization Competitions.

Governor Hochul announced that $230 million in awards to nine upstate airports for revitalization projects that reimagine and further modernize airports across upstate New York.

We're excited to share that the Terminal B to C Connector has officially opened to the public and has started welcoming JetBlue passengers into Logan International Airport.
We'd like to thank Massachusetts Port Authority for their continued partnership, along with Suffolk Construction and all our consultant partners for a job well done. And congratulations to our internal FM team for all their hard work and success.

The Terminal C to B Connector at Logan International Airport is almost complete and our team recently got a chance to tour the site. The Connector will provide enhancements to post-security, aiding in creating a continuous passenger connection across all terminals. The project also includes terminal enhancements such as updated lounge amenities and convenient concessions, intuitive way finding, welcoming rest areas, accessible changing areas for parents, and accommodation of pet needs through service animal relief areas.
